Outline of Argument for Defense of Christianity

I).  Establishing the argument for a Theistic God.

A.     The argument from effect to cause shows that God is an infinite power.

B.     The argument from the reality of intelligent effects reveals that He is an intelligent cause.

C.    The argument from the reality of moral effects reveals that He is a moral cause.

 This God is identical to the God described in the Bible, a Theistic God.

II).  If God exists then miracles are possible.

III).  The N.T. documents are Historically Reliable.

A.     The reliability of the New Testament Manuscripts. 

1.      The New Testament has more Manuscripts.

2.      The New Testament has earlier Manuscripts.

3.      The New Testament is more accurately copied.

4.      The whole N.T. could be reconstructed from all the quotations from just the early Church fathers except for 11 verses.

B.     The reliability of the New Testament witnesses.

C.    There is strong support for the historicity of the life and death of Christ outside the NT from contemporary 1st cent. sources.

IV).  In the NT Jesus claimed to be God.          

V).     Jesus proved to be God by an unprecedented convergence of miracles.

A.     The Miracle of fulfilled Prophecy.

B.     The Miracle of the Resurrection.

VI).  Therefore, Jesus was God in human flesh .
